In world 2.0 (post internet) the definition of Friend has changed. We enjoy staying connected, informed and current with what’s happening in the lives of our acquaintances as well as current and former friends and even people we have not met personally whom we call our friends. In the context of social media, the term “friend” is often used to describe contacts rather than relationships. You have the ability to send your FRIEND a message, but this is not the same thing as having a relationship with a person one on one.

As explained in the U.S. News ebook, How to Live to 100, which is now available for purchase

The gravitational pull of individual friendships can have an enormous cumulative effect on the quality of our lives. With growing numbers of people living alone, either by choice or circumstance, friendships can occupy the emotional space that other people fill with spouses or significant others. Friends can link us to broader social networks   and help enrich our lives. At the end of the day, a friend can be the emotional oasis that makes all the difference.

Some people are just meant to be in your life and its funny how you know that on hangout session with them. I am always camera ready and interestingly they always have a camera on them! Lmao!
